...
It is I, someday
Will read it singing
Or haltingly.
It is I, in insolence
Will change some.
Will laugh
At the way
The words are written
Nevertheless, won't read
The way one should.
Altered readings
Can't ruin the book
The essentials
Remain
Beyond the immediate, Nand Babu's poetry evolves
as a metaphor of social resistance at the
cross-section of myths, history and political
reality. It is an aesthetic resistance premised
on a linguistic sensibility which is inclusive;
psychologically engaging, socially responsible
and politically conscious. In invoking a
multiplicity of responses his poetry invites the
reader to participate in and witness the
present, thus ensuring a complexity of
awareness, necessary for ushering in a
progressive future.
MANAGER PANDEY
Poetry is the celebration of hope amidst the
debris of despair. A vital constituent of humane
heritage it nurtures beauty, sustains truth and
innovates Life. The ambience that Nand Babu's
poetry evokes takes its sustenance from his deep
rootedness in the native milieu; drawing on this
inheritance he weaves a world of words that is
at once stringent and sustaining. Despite his
low profile Nand Babu's poetry makes profound
statement and in the process it becomes an
emulatory aesthetic milestone.
The English rendering of his poems would not
only extend their reach but would also make them
more significant.
